about artelo

The Art of the stay

Welcome to Artelo, where every stay in Kennett Square is a masterpiece and we believe art has the power to elevate everyday moments. Immerse yourself in the creative energy of the original murals adorning each of our 14 hotel rooms. While the art may be the star of your stay, our first priority is creating a comfortable environment that helps you slow down and stay a while. We hope you’ll enjoy the stylish beds, hand-built by fourth-generation furniture makers, Fourge Furniture, and topped with plush Matouk bedding; the La Colombe coffee and Mrs. Robinson’s tea, ready to brew with our Nespresso machine; and the fresh-scented Malin & Goetz toiletries provided in every room.

A Tapestry of Creativity

At Artelo, we believe that art is not just about aesthetics; it's about storytelling, cultural expression, and celebrating diversity. Each of our 14 murals tells a unique story, from a celebration of the local flora and fauna surrounding Kennett Square, to the history and pride of the Lenape people who built this region, to subtle reminders to look for beauty and whimsy in the everyday. It was an honor to work with a wide range of talented regional artists to bring their visions to life, and we invite you, our guests, into the heart of these stories.

A Vision of Square Roots Collective

As part of  Square Roots Collective, our mission extends beyond offering an unmatched place to stay. We aim to cultivate connections, inspire imagination, and lift the rich cultural fabric that makes Kennett Square unique. Square Roots Collective is a social impact venture igniting systemic change. We build local businesses as a force for good and invest 100% of profits toward non-profit initiatives that benefit the local community. We realize you have a lot of options when deciding on lodging in Kennett Square. When you book a room at Artelo or grab dinner at The Creamery of Kennett Square, you’re helping house a family through Family Promise of Southern Chester County, making nature more accessible through Kennett Trails Alliance, supporting research surrounding the Underground Railroad’s history through Voices Underground, and so much more.
