We’ve gathered answers to the most common questions about our hotel, including how contactless check-in works, what amenities we offer, our key policies, and more. Whether you’re visiting Kennett Square for Longwood Gardens, the local dining scene, or a quiet weekend getaway, you'll feel right at home and well-cared for from the moment you arrive.
Reservations & Hotel Operations
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in at Artelo begins at 3pm and check-out is promptly at 11am.
As we are a 24-hour, contactless hotel, check-in can take place any time after the 3pm check-in window begins, whether you’re arriving at 5pm or midnight!
Can I request an early check-in or late check-out?
To maintain our high housekeeping standards, we cannot guarantee an early check-in will be available for your stay. If you would like to request one, please contact us via the guest communications portal you received via text message after booking or email us at info@arteloksq.com.
If you would like a late check-out, you can add it to your reservation for a $50 fee. Simply choose the Late Checkout add-on while booking online. Late check-out is at 1pm.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand plans can change, and we’ll do our best to make the process smooth.
- Cancellations made 30 days or more before arrival are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made less than 30 days before arrival are non-refundable.

Can I modify my reservation after booking?
In the event of an error or change of plans, please email us as soon as possible at info@arteloksq.com to modify your reservation. We will do our best to make modifications, but please note we may be unable to accommodate some requests made less than 30 days from your date of stay.
Do you offer group bookings?
Yes! Whether it’s a family gathering, corporate retreat, or the wedding of your dreams, we would love to host your large party at Artelo. For group booking rates and information, please email us at info@arteloksq.com.
What does “contactless hotel” mean?
A contactless hotel uses smart technology to make your stay simple, secure, and self-guided—no front desk, keys, or paperwork required. You’ll check in online, unlock your room with a unique code sent to you via text and email, and enjoy a seamless stay with digital communication and local support from our team if you need it.
How does check-in and check-out work?
Before your arrival, you’ll receive a unique check-in code that will unlock your door. When you arrive, type it into the keypad on your door, followed by the checkmark key to unlock your room. Once you unlock your room, that’s it! You’re officially checked in.
The morning of check-out, we’ll send check-out instructions via the guest communications portal. When you’re ready to leave, simply type in the code provided, followed by the checkmark key. After 30 seconds, your door will lock and you will be checked out of the hotel.
Do you have on-site parking?
Yes! We have a large parking lot in front of the hotel for guests. If the lot is full, there is overflow parking down the street, across from Braeloch Brewing. Look for signs that say The Creamery Parking.
What should I do if I need assistance during my stay?
The day of check-in, you’ll receive a text from us that opens our guest communications portal. For the fastest response, send us a text message in that thread. Our General Manager is available between 9am and 8pm daily.

What security measures are in place to ensure a peaceful stay?
To ensure guests feel safe and secure, our property is outfitted with security cameras that overlook every entrance to the hotel. Every room door has a manual deadbolt lock in addition to the digital keypad lock.
Rooms & Amenities
I’m interested in a specific mural. Can I choose the room I stay in?
Absolutely! When checking out online, you’ll have the option to select from a list of all our available rooms after you’ve entered the dates of your stay.
Do you have ADA- compliant rooms?
Yes! Room 3 is our ADA-compliant room, complete with a more spacious floorplan, roll-in shower, wider doorways, and grab bars in the bathroom. Room 4 is also more accessible than a standard room, with a spacious floorplan, wider doorways, and a roll-in shower, though it does not have grab bars.
Is Wi-Fi included?
Yes! Free Wi-Fi is included with every stay. Find the login information in the guest binder in your room.
Do you offer breakfast or have a restaurant on-site?
We currently do not offer breakfast or have a restaurant on-site, though each room has a mini bar stocked with a Nespresso coffee machine, free coffee and tea, and additional snacks for purchase. We are also a short 10-minute walk to Talula’s Table and Philter, two fabulous cafes in town.
How do I purchase items from the mini bar?
To purchase items from the mini bar, use your mobile device to scan the QR code on the menu in your room, choose the items you’d like to purchase from the list, and check out securely.
Are there coffee makers, fridges, and/or microwaves in the rooms?
Each room comes with a Nespresso coffee machine and a mini fridge. We do not have microwaves in the rooms.
Hotel Policies
Do 100% of your profits really go back to the community?
Yes! After taxes, our profits are reinvested through the Square Roots Community Initiative to support various community initiatives, like helping to house a family experiencing homelessness through Family Promise of Chester County, or to provide bikes, helmets, and safety training to 300+ children annually through the Kennett Community Bike Project. Every stay at Artelo helps make our community better!
Is the hotel smoke-free?
Yes, we are a smoke-free property. We kindly ask that you refrain from using any smoking or vaping products during your stay. This helps us maintain a clean and comfortable environment for all our guests.
Do you allow pets?
Although we love furry friends, we are unable to accommodate pets on our property. Only certified service animals are allowed in the hotel.
Are children welcome?
Because our boutique rooms are designed with one bed, and the layout cannot support additional cots or cribs, we are only able to accommodate guests aged 12 and older. We greatly appreciate your understanding.
What happens if I forget something after check-out?
If you leave something behind, please send us a message via the guest communications portal or email us at info@arteloksq.com to let us know. We will do our best to promptly return the item to you. This could result in a shipping fee, depending on the item.
